SDIO for custom designed board RT-1176

Hi, 

We are working SDIO module  on our custom designed board, we are performing Read/Write operations from blocks and getting  misbehaved output data . Data is coming correctly for few iterations and it is changing after few iterations. We are testing by rerunning same application by applying manual RST button.

Please compare the images attached correct with  corrupted data. Difference between EVK and our board is EVK is having RT-1176 & SDIO slot on same PCB board. But We designed board , Having MCU in pcb-1 and which is attached using connector to base board which is having SD card slot.

Hi @ManikantaRobbi,

This is most likely a hardware issue. Please review and ensure that all of the points described on section "7.7 High-speed signal routing recommendations" of the Hardware Development Guide for the MIMXRT1160/1170 Processor are properly being followed for your custom boards.

Thanks @Edwin, H/W team crosschecked and they are sure that SDIO is designed with respect to "High-speed signal routing recommendations" guidelines. And as I asked earlier "Is there any issue with SD card slot on one board and MCU(IMXRT1176) on anther board connected using  Edge Connector".(Similar to RAM in PC).

Hi @EdwinHz ,

It's been long time still we didn't figure out the issue.

1) Is a any thumb rule that MCU and SDIO should be on same pcb.

2)Measured all wire lengths, impedance and other factors based on suggestions. 

 

Please suggest me any other way to find the root cause.
