Power Consumption of iMXRT1170 Clarifications

In the Data Sheet for Industrial Products, typical power consumptions are listed for various setpoints. However, it is not well defined how the chips are operated in these scenarios. To be precise, are the cores in idle mode, i.e. WFI (wait for interrupt)? Or are they running an idle loop? Or is some kind of benchmark executed, which actually brings the CPU load to a 100%?

Could you please give me a clarification regarding these issues?

Regards,

Markus

Hello,

Thank you for contacting NXP support.

I think the information for more details regarding he power consumption on the RT1170 can be found on the Chapter 17 Power Management Unit of the Reference Manual, this provide details on the chips power structure.

Please let me know if this information was useful.

My question is under which circumstances have the provided power values been obtained? Have the CPUs been in idle mode, or have they run a benchmark to reach (kind of) maximum power consumption.

Hello,

This are achieved by testing on a controlled environment where they run a benchmark to reach the objectives under defined and controlled circumstances.

Please let me know if there is anything else where I can help you.
