Hi,

We are using PTN5110DHQZ PD controller in our design and TPS66120YBGR USB sink switch.

Our device is bus powered device on the same type C port.

When ever we are configuring CC lines the voltage in VBUS is going low for 200ms. If we are not configuring the CC lines then the VBUS 5V is constant and it is not going down at all.

We have observed the similar behavior in i.mx8m EVK as well.

Hi,

I think you are referring to an error we recently discovered where PTN5110 DC voltage on CC1 and CC2 drops down to Vrd range then the test fails. To workaround this issue, CC pins must be isolated from the Type-C connector when the device is not powered, and when the device is powered CC pins must be connected to the Type-C connector. The proposal is to insert one N-channel MOSFET between each CC pin and the Type-C connector. The N-channel MOSFETs would be off when the board is not powered and switches to on when the board is powered.

Please check errata document in the following link for detailed information: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/errata/ES_PTN5110NTHQ.pdf

Jose
