PCIe Wifi 6 and iMX8MPlus

Hello,

I am developping a board with the iMX8MPlus and I would like to test the PCIe interface with a WiFi 6 module using PCIe.

I looked for the Intel one, AX201, but as they need CNVi I can't use it. The others Intel solutions seems to be also difficult to use with this processor and its available interfaces.

I would like to know if you have any recommandation with WiFi 6 modules or other solutions which can fit with the processor.

Hi ,

you can use AzureWave WIFI/BT module AW-XM458MA, which is NXP WIFI 6 , 88W9098 inside.

the module is m.2 key E , 2230 module, which can be plugged in M.2 key E slot on I.MX8MP EVK board.

Below is tested on i.MX8MM-EVK PCIe Slot, for you referenece.

88W9098 supports 2 MACs, so you can find mlan0/uap0/wfd0, mmlan0/muap0/mwfd0 interfaces.

mlan :  STA

uap : AP

wfd : WiFI direct.

Hello,

 

Thank you for your answer, the module is really interesting. Unfortunately, it is impossible to have samples or just have only few of them. The only way is to buy minimum 2 000 pieces by Avnet Europe. 

So I still continue my research and I am open to other recommandations.
