How to set the dual display with different context in imx8mq

Hi sir

Now I used the imx8mq evk board to test the dual display, one is hdmi(default), the other is mipi-to-hdmi. When I set the correct bootargs and dts files, both display can work, but with the same context when I run the demo. So If I would like to the two display the different context,  for example I would like to the mipi-to-hdmi to dispaly the demo, and the hdmi display the android home screen. How could I set? Could you give me some solutions ?

The Andriod version is :evk_8mq_eng 9 1.0.0-ga-rc3 20190114 dev-keys

Attachment is the code of demo, please check.

Thanks

Hello,

According to the Android Release notes for the Android release 9.0.0_2.3. The i.MX6MQ is only able to play mirrored images in different displays(LVDS-to-HDMI+HDMI). The BSP is not capable of play different content for each screen.

I apologize for the inconvenience this could give you.

Best regards,

Diego

Hello,

I apologies, that was my mistake. I was referring to the i.MX8MQ instead of the i.MX6Q. Unfortunately, the dual-display with different contents is only supported by our Linux BSP. Android does not support dual-display.

If you go to the Android release notes document, Table 2, page 4. You could find that only the mirrored dual-display is supported by our Android BSP in the i.MX8MQ.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.

Hello,

You could find more information about how is configured the mirrored display in our BSP in the fsl-imx8mq-dual-display.dtb or dtbo-imx8mq-dual.img. Unfortunately, further information related to this is more related to how the AOSP works and this out of our scope of support. I apologize for the inconvenience this could give you.

Best regards,

Diego.

Hello,

Probably it could be at the APP code level. I found the following information. However, this is out of our scope off support. We cannot guarantee anything. I apologize for the inconvenience this could give you.

Hello,

The iTOP-iMX6 is a board from a third-party. For specific support of that application, I suggest you go with them. I apologize for the inconvenience this could give you.

Best regards,

Diego.

Hi,

did you make any progress on this issue?

I have a similar problem. Got a 8MPLUSLPD4-EVK with the NXP Android 13 BSP and the release notes still say "mirrored display". But we want to display different content on three displays connected via HDMI and LVDS.

Regards,

Joerg
