Hi, NXP Team.
HAPPY NEW YEAR~!!
There's a question while using "88W8987" IC (in Murata TYPE-1ZM module).
Now, we use "88W8987" IC as below Scenario.
ENABLE_PSM (Power-Save-Mode) → DISABLE_PSM(and wait 1ms) → SCAN → ENABLE_PSM → DISABLE_PSM(1ms) →........
But, at few devices, we could see that "TimeOut Error" do happen like below Error Log. (I also attach the Log file, together.)
This Error do happen at the timing when IC start "SCAN" procedure.
-----------------------------------[Error Log]----------------------------------
[ 94.300000] init: Starting service 'wpa_supplicant'...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I want to know.
1) Was there any similar Issue at this IC?
2) Can you give us a guide about debugging this ISSUE?
(Such as Scan timing or else.)
Thank you.
Have a nice 2024.
Hi, NXP Team.
Thank you for your reply.
We did test by using "SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987-U16-MMC- W16.68.10.p33-16.26.10.p33- C4X16651-GPL" Driver file.
But same issue did happen at here.
So, it seems that Driver file is not a problem.
Can I get an advise with another debugging point?
Regards.
Hi TaeHyeok,
Better to test with the very latest drivers BSP "NXP_L-SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987-U16-MMC-W16.68.21.p68-16.16.21.p68-MXM5X16357-MGPL" from 9 Sep 2022 before concluding that "Driver file is not a problem".
Could you do it please ?
Thanks.
Regards.
Hi, NXP Team.
Thank you for your reply.
But, now we can't download "NXP_L-SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987-U16-MMC-W16.68.21.p68-16.16.21.p68-MXM5X16357-MGPL" this file, because we do not have an authorization.
Even we did make NDA with NXP, we could not get enough authorization to access the Download Link, you shared to us.
So, I want to check, is that Driver file for specific customer?
Also, is there any other way to go into that link?
Regards.
Have a nice day.
Hi TaeHyeok,
No, this file isn't customer specific.
On page https://www.nxp.com/support/support/secure-access-rights:SEC-ACCESS, did you go through step "3. Request access rights" (Secure Access Rights Form filling : https://www.nxp.com/webapp-signup/docstoreReg)
Regards.
Hi, NXP Team.
Thank you for your support.
I think you don't have to check with this.
I'll talk with our team internally and contact to you through them.
And also check this issue with other points.
Was really thank you for your support, while you are busy.
Regards.
TAEHYEOK.
Hi, NXP Team.
Thank you for your reply.
I tried to proceed the process and got NDA with other account but did fail.
So, I think I should try debugging with other way.
>> Not all the IC did have Error like I told.
Only some of ICs do have a problem, so it seems Driver is not a primary problem.
Because, other ICs did work well.
So, I think it would be better to proceed debugging with other way.
Regards.
Hi TaeHyeok,
Happy New Year !
From your logs, I see that you are using an old driver version "SD8987-16.68.1.p150-C4X15C516-GPL-(FP68)".
Could you please move to the more recent one "NXP_L-SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987-U16-MMC-W16.68.21.p68-16.16.21.p68-MXM5X16357-MGPL" you will find on product page https://www.nxp.com/products/wireless-connectivity/wi-fi-plus-bluetooth-plus-802-15-4/2-4-5-ghz-dual...
Here is the direct download link of this version : https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=NXP.L-SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987_U16_MMC.MXM5X16357.MGPL&appType...
Let me know if you still have issues with this version.
Hi, NXP_Team.
Thank you for your support.
I tried to download the Driver by using Direct_Link you shared, but I could not proceed download.
There's a Error message like below.
(Your userId does not have sufficient privilege to proceed with download.)
So, I tried to find and download file at the page, but could not find the file with the same File-Name. But could find other Driver files.
And it seems this file "SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987-U16-MMC- W16.68.10.p33-16.26.10.p33- C4X16651-GPL" is the latest(Oct 17, 2019) at my side.
Can I know, the other way to download "NXP_L-SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987-U16-MMC-W16.68.21.p68-16.16.21.p68-MXM5X16357-MGPL" file?
or will it be okay to using the file with red title?
Regards.
Have a nice day.
Hi TaeHyeok,
To use the directlink (release from 09 sept 2022), you need to request more privileges via https://www.nxp.com/support/support/secure-access-rights:SEC-ACCESS
But, in the meantime, yes you can use the release "SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8987-U16-MMC- W16.68.10.p33-16.26.10.p33- C4X16651-GPL" since yours is older (01 apr 2016 I think).
