We're considering a 88W8997-based wifi/bt module for audio devices and it would be very useful to us to have a mechanism to perform accurate time synchronization between devices via wifi or bluetooth. Is there any current or planned support for this?
Ideal would be support for one or both mechanisms for time sync over wifi standardized in 802.1AS (gPTP) clause 12 of course, but even something as basic as the ability to obtain a TSF-timestamp of a GPIO pulse would already suffice (since the TSF timer is already synchronized to the AP you're connected to).
