Is FlexRAM is a sort of RAM in S32K144?

I just started to study S32K144.

I found a little bit confusing thing about FlexRAM in Reference Manual

Plesae see the figure below.

The various types of flash memory and the registers for flash memory have different base
addresses, as the following figure shows. Each base address is specified in the attached
file S32K1xx_memory_map.xlsx.

I picked this figure in Reference Manual.

I knew FlexRAM is a sort of RAM. But why that figure has FlexRAM?

And one more.

I picked this figure in "S32k_1xxx_memory_map.xlsx" file

it seems like it says FlexRAM is Flash..

I think I misunderstand something....

But I can't figure it out,yet

Hello,

I believe that RM rev 12.1 will help you to better understand FlexRAM.

Please, refer to below images:

After you check Table 2-6. you will see that the FlexRAM can be used as traditional SRAM or emulated EEPROM storage.

Figure 36-8. does not know which one of these options you want to use that is why there is FlexRAM.

So, when you check the more specific figure related to your device you will see how looks memory map in both cases.

About "S32k_1xxx_memory_map.xlsx", you can see that there are exact memory ranges of both memory partitions and FlexRam block. I'm not sure what is not clear.

That's why the name is FlexRAM. Flexible !!

Because FlexRAM is dedicated to FTFC , NXP might say FlexRAM is a sort of FLASH.

I think FlexRAM is physically RAM, though.

and also it is volatile memory anyway.
