For USB2.0 interface,S32G provide datasheet for general spec according to USB2.0.

Is there any different for S32G according to USB interface compare with general USB2.0 spec?

Is there any plan to update USB2.0 to USB3.0 in the future?

Hi,

As mentioned on the S32G2 Reference Manual [Page 2576, S32G2 Reference Manual, Rev. 6, 11/2022]:

"USBOTG is a USB 2.0-compliant serial interface engine for implementing a USB interface. The registers and data structures are based on the Enhanced Host Controller Interface Specification for Universal Serial Bus (EHCI) from Intel Corporation."

Where Intel describes the following (link: Enhanced Host Controller Interface Specification (intel.com)

"The Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) specification describes the register-level interface for a host controller for the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Revision 2.0.".

Which at the end it is describing the USB 2.0 revision. The information provided on the S32G2 platform should be compliant with this revision.

Regarding USB 3.0, seeing that S32G3 platform does not implement it, we cannot confirm when (if it is going to happen) will be implemented. Given it is hardware and software dependent, there is no update possibility under the current circumstances. Again, this is dependent on the S32G family, there are other processors within the NXP line-up that do have the USB3.0 compliance.

Please, let us know.
