We are using a PEMicro Multilink Universal programmer/debugger for a MPC5748G based project.  In the S32 Design Studio for Power Architecture IDE, is there any way to have it perform a mass erase of flash before programming?

In a previous forum post (https://community.nxp.com/t5/S32-Design-Studio/S32-Design-Studio-Flash-Mass-erase/m-p/826471/highlig...), there is an screen shot of the S32 IDE that shows a mass erase option:

This does not appear in S32 for PA.  Is there another way of performing that option?

Hi,

unfortunately this is not configurable in S32DS.

You mentioned the standard erase where selected blocks can be erased. In the IDE, there does not seem to be any place in the "Debug Configuration/PEMicro Interface Settings" window where specific blocks can be selected for erase.  The programmer/debugger only seems to perform a "smart" erase, where only the flash blocks that have changed in the .elf file get erased.

Where can selected blocks be specified?

Hi,

S32K devices and MPC57xx devices have different flash modules. S32K supports mass erase function but there's nothing like that in MPC57xx devices. There's only standard erase where you can select blocks to be erased. So, there's no such option in S32 Design Studio.
