Flexray - SK-S12XDP512-A and (FRDC) FLXRAYIPMFR4200

Hi everyone

we are newbie with flexray and we are trying to develop a simple application with two nodes.

We bought two SK-S12XDP512-A evaluation board and two FLXRAYIPMFR4200 Generic Daughter Card.

We ask you: is the demo project included in the kit only for MFR4300?

Is there an application example that could run with MFR4200?

Hi,

I am not sure which demo project is included in the kit.

In case that it is FlexRay STARTER KIT (two SK-S12XDP512-A boards and two MFR4300 CC), the software CD should include the FlexRay UNIFIED Driver with application examples only for MFR4300.

If you have the SK-S12XDP512-A boards with different software CD, I'm not sure which FlexRay driver is provided.

However, the software status for Communication Controllers is as follows:

MFR4200 -

Freescale  provides the Low Level Driver (LLD) and/or High Level Driver (HLD). For both drivers, the application examples are created.

MFR4300 (and all new FlexRay modules) -

We provide the FlexRay UNIFIED Driver with application examples for required platforms.

Unfortunately, the LLD/HLD and the UNIFIED drivers are not compatible since there are too many changes in FlexRay module Controller Host Interface (CHI) concept.

In the CD shipped with SK-S12XDP512-A there is the LLD and an application example for MFR4300 but I need the drivers for MFR4200.

Could you tell me how can I get them?

Could you explain me about the difference between LLD and HLD?

Paolo,

Try asking the Freescale to set up a compass Extranet where you get access to the LLDs and HLDs for different platforms.

You can use freescale's "service requests" link to reach them.

Let me know how it goes.
