Hi I am trying to bring up a custom board that uses a T1042 and five (5) component DDR4 memory IC's. These are 16 Gb x16 chips, making a 72 bit wide interface. Only one chip select used (CS0_n)
An odd thing is happenning - when I run the script loaded through a SW probe, the T1042 should be running its DDR4 calibration routine. It seems like it's starting, but, the chip select to the DDR4 from T1042 only asserts low for a couple nanoseconds and then immediately goes high. This process repeats indefinitely until I either power off the board, or assert a POR to the T1042.
This is clearly not correct behavior for the chip select, based on seeing the operation of the Dev Board D4RDB board - so the DDR4 on my board of course never functions.
Any ideas? I've verified the DC power stays at the required 1.2V +/- 50 mV.
You need to run DDRv tool to examine and bring up the DDR interface.
Hi Yipingwang,
I have received and run the DDRv tool, and it's failing with the following error.
"Error configuring target! - DDR initialization failed: D_INIT was not cleared by hardware!"
How do you suggest I proceed?
Trevor
Would you please create a new thread to describe how you used QCVS DDRv tool?
Hi Yipingwang
Where do I get this DDRv tool?
Trevor
I assume that you have purchased Specialist Level CodeWarrior license.
Please login in www.nxp.com, please download QCVS for PA 4.5 from My NXP Account ->Software Licensing and Support->View accounts->NXP Software->QorIQ Configuration and Validation Enablement Suite -> 4.5 QCVS offline installation packages for CodeWarrior for Power Architectures Rev 4.5
Please download and install CodeWarrior 10.5.1 from My NXP Account ->Software Licensing and Support->View accounts->CodeWarrior Networked Suite - Specialist Level->10.5.1 CodeWarrior for Power Architecture - Professional Edition (Eclipse-Windows hosted)
Please install CodeWarrior for PA 10.5.1 first, then open CodeWarrior IDE and install QCVS(DDRv) tool from Help->Install New Software->Add->Archive.
Hi
I have not purchased this that I know of.
Is there a way to use this DDRv tool without the specialist level codewarrior license?
How do I purchase a "specialist level codewarrior license"?
Trevor
Please purchase the license from the following link.
