RDDRONE-T1ADAPT in master mode

Hi,

We are using  the RDDRONE-T1ADAPT media converter, but connection is continuously lost.

We are connecting to a Ethernet BroadR-Reach Phy Marvell 88Q2112, 1000Base-T1 and it seems not to support auto negotiation.

Is there a way to force RDDRONE-T1ADAPT into master mode? For instance by a special firmware?

Thanks

/Axel

Did you found the solution to get T1ADAPT always as a master?

Sorry, no. Not yet. We had very little time to look into a solution for that.

Are you also in need of being in a certain mode always?

Hi Axel,

I can see that RDDRONE-T1ADAPT should try slave mode first. If it fails, it starts trying master mode.

Lukas

Hello @lukaszadrapa

Will the RDDRONE-T1ADAPT switch between master and slave perpetually? What is the frequency of that toggling between the two modes?

We're facing a condition where it sometimes takes several seconds to establish an Ethernet link with RDDRONE-T1ADAPT and I'm wondering if it could be due to this behavior.

Thanks!

Vic

Thanks for the info, @lukaszadrapa .

I think the problem is a bit more complex in our setup:

I think our client is closing down the connection and reopening it again, hence triggering an auto negotiate again on the RDDRONE-T1ADAPT.

I think our client is closing down, because it can't handle the auto negotiate.

Best would be to try a firmware version for RDDRONE-T1ADAPT, where it is always in MASTER mode.

Do you think this is possible?

Thanks,

/Axel
