While MR-T1ETH8 was developed for integration with other mobile robotics solutions/reference boards such as NavQPlus, FMUK66, MR-VMU-RT1176, RDDRONE-T1ADAPT, MR-CANHUBK344, the mobile robotics team does find a lot of non- mobile robotics customers are using it for various purposes.

This is an informal attempt at an FAQ for this board:

Q: Where can i get software support for developing on this board?
A: Currently the T1ETH8 is a hardware reference only. For any software development, you must also refer to the SJA1110 EVK from the Automotive Business line. You can expect that Automotive customers will get priority.  Support will only be in reference the SJA1110 EVK and not the MR-T1ETH8

Of course any software developed on the EVK will also run on this hardware reference.

  1. Is there an SDK we can use to develop our own product based on the MR-T1ETH8? We requested the secured files but the SDK referred to on the webpage was not included.
    • The code is developed with S32DS version 3.4 and the SJA1110 SDK.
    • Sources are internally available (collabnet) and may be available if requested through the automotive networking BL.
    •
  2. Is the edge lock chip mandatory to use with this design?
    • The use case enabled is as NFC interface to an Android mobile phone app. This is NOT based on any SDK.
    • For the switch use case this is not a requirement
    •
  3. What is the switch’s default configuration?
    • The default code just supports the switch as a switch.
    • The idea here is that tftp can be used to upload new firmware to enable more features.
    •
  4. Does the switch have VLAN capabilities enabled by default? If not, what steps are needed to enable VLAN support?
    • No just plain switch
    •
  5. Is there any type of active feedback/communication between the switch and the PMIC?
    • No communication to the PMIC
