How can I use the serial-over-USB feature on TWR-5225x?

Hi all,

I have a 5225x Tower sitting here and I found in the docs that I can route the UART0 to the OSBDM. I assume that the OSBDM will then transport the serial communication over the USB interface (much like the virtual serial port in the P&E interface).

However I cant find any documentation on how to actually use this.

Is there a driver available to make that serial-over-usb port visible on the PC as a regular serial interface so that I can just launch a terminal program?

Or is there some proprietary client available like the PE Terminal?

It would be great if someone could point me to what I probably overlooked, because that would save me from soldering something to hook up the PC to that 10-pin header on the dev board.

Regards,

 Sven

While the hardware hooks supporting serial to USB communications were added, the feature is not currently supported in firmware.  I am not aware of any effort to add the feature at this time.  The souce code is avialable for download and you are free to add the feature if desired.

Hi Spencer,

I doubt I'll find the time to add this feature myself, but the information is highly appreciated.

Thanks!
