Setting up register URTS2 on mcf52259 for general purpose IO

I need to use the URTS2 pin on the mcf52259 as a general purpose IO pinin order  to drive  the transmit enable line of an RS 485 tranceiver.  How can one do this in MQX?

Is there any issue with opening GPIO file having PORTUC | PORT_PIN2 and controling it?
