I'm using NXP's TJA1100 to make an application on Automotive ethernet. I can read / write all the registers successfully using the SMI interface. But When I complete the settings and want to start up a link, the chip don't send any singal on ethernet. I've both tried the autonomous mode and managed mode(master), the result is that the link control can be set successfully but there's not any signal coming out, and the communication status register always show PHY Initializing.
The hardware design is ok except for lacks the LPF and the ESD components on TRX_P and TRX_M. Is there any ideas abou the problem? Thanks!
