  •                                    Safety Manual for MPC5744P
  • Assumption: [SM_144] The application software must initiate the hardware-assisted
self-test to detect LVD/HVD failures after startup. [end]
Assumption: [SM_084] The application software must check the status registers of the
FCCU and MC_RGM for the results of the hardware-assisted self-test. [end]

how we can detect LVD/HVD ?  can you give our some software example about how te detect LVD/HVD ?

Hi,

You can invoke the fault by injecting it via PMC module.

Then you must see the faults reported in FCCU.

I suppose there is no SW example needed as this is very simple.

Just inject the fault via PMC and verify if the fault was latched in FCCU.

Assumption: [SM_204] It is assumed that the ADC's are used to monitor the bandgap
reference voltage of the PMC. [end]
Apart from the self-test and ADC monitoring of the bandgap reference voltage, the use of
the PMC for safety-relevant applications is transparent to the user.
The PMC BISTs are automatically run during startup, but the LVDs and HVDs are
disabled until after testing completes.

as your means,if testing completes, the LVDs and HVDs will be automatically running? we  do not need to do anything, just need to check FCCU?

Hi,

The LVD/HVD is running except PMC BIST.

What you have to do is to test is PMC can react on LVD/HVD violation by injecting the fault to PMC and checking reaction path up to FCCU.
