I've been having a hard time finding the bootcfg1 test point or jumper for the MPC5777C - 416DS daughter board. I'm going to be using the MPC57xx motherboard (SCH-27237 REV C) with this daughter board for some testing through SCI. I need to be able to enter into serial boot mode. I've gone through the documentation and wiring schematics with little luck. The documentation does state that there is probably a physical pin on the board. The only place I was really able to find bootcfg1 was on SIPI but I don't believe that is what I need. If anyone has any knowledge or tips on how to enter serial boot mode even without bootcfg1 it would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I have just found revision C3 and D has config pins removed from base connectors.

Older revisions have them connected to the motherboard's headers.

I am not sure about the reason why it has been removed, I guess possible booting issues as these pins has not been terminated anyhow.

What you are describing it is a legacy option backward compatible with previous MCU generation (MPC5676R). There is second option that the configuration is stored in OTP flash area (DCF records) instead of configuration pins – pay attention to Figure 5-4. UTEST Miscellaneous DCF client.

On this device, legacy mode is default. An advantage for setting by DCF client is that these pins may be used for different purpose. A disadvantage is you cannot switch configuration according current need. Programming of DCF records is not trivial task but it is manageable.
