Hi everyone,
I’m encountering some issues with my i7 laptop while using an NXP product and was wondering if anyone here might have some advice.
Here’s what I’m working with:
- i7 Laptop: Intel Core i7 processor with standard RAM and storage.
- NXP Product: NXP MCUXpresso IDE (Version 11.7)
The Issues:
Performance Hiccups: When running NXP MCUXpresso IDE (Version 11.7) on my i7 laptop, I’m noticing occasional slowdowns, especially during code compilation and debugging sessions.
UI Lag: The interface of the MCUXpresso IDE seems to stutter or lag when switching between different views or editing large files.
Compatibility Concerns: There are moments when the IDE crashes or becomes unresponsive, which is making development work difficult.
Steps Taken So Far:
- Verified that the laptop meets the system requirements for running MCUXpresso IDE (Version 11.7).
- Reinstalled the software and tried running it with minimal background processes.
- Looked through the official NXP documentation and forums but haven’t found a solution that works.
Has anyone else had similar experiences with an i7 laptop and NXP MCUXpresso IDE (Version 11.7)? Any tips or recommendations for optimizing performance or resolving these issues would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any help!

hi,judywatson
I use a computer configuration as shown below, along with the latest version of the IDE(11.10.0), and do not have the problem you describe.
You can try the following suggestions.
- Its probably your anti-virus software, scanning the executable(s). This will (over time) speed up, as it comes to trust the executable. Make sure no virus or malware is taking up system resources.
- You can try to download the latest version of IDE (11.10.0) if this phenomenon still occurs.
- Close unneeded background programs and services through Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to free up system resources.
- If lagging occurs during the running of the old project, delete the old unnecessary running files in the project.
Wish it helps you.
