I'm new to Kinetis MCU's - when working with AD there was a folder with several example projects for each MCU element are there such examples also for the MCU's as for the K60

You can take a look on examples for KSDK Software Development Kit for Kinetis MCUs|NXP

There are examples (i.e. adc_hw_trigger, adc_low_power and for adc driver) for twrk60d100m,
