MCF5232CVM150 and MC9S08GB60A.

  1. Can these devices be Ultrasonic clean?
  2. Our CM is using SANHO-Ultrasonic Engineering Ltd equipment, is this acceptable?
  3. Our CM is using a single frequency (28KHz), will this frequency causes a latent damage to the wire bond inside the device?
  4. If 28KHz does causes damage to the device, what is the right frequency to use? (alternating/variable frequency)

Hi,

Please be note that : NXP don't test or qualify devices for ultrasonic cleaning since almost no customers use this cleaining method. The most commond cleaning method is to use high pressure water based spray wash which our devices have no problems with.  Ultrasonic cleaning has a potential for damaging various devices on a PCB assembly.

Best Regards,

Fang
