Hi all,
I would like to hear your oppinion about what family and type of uC can I use for this particular project.
It´s nothing but a 108 ch PWM Output controlled with DMX protocol
First thing I have thought is the use of two uCs, cause there are 108 PWM outputs!
The PWM can be achieved with software (they dont need to be specific PWM output)
Is just a uC very simple with a lot of Output Ports, can you give me some direction for start looking?
Thanks in advance to any answer or proposal received
Regards,
Cristian.

I would like to recommend you the S08AC family (2.7 to 5.5 supply voltage) due to its great compatibility, features and number of pins required for your application.
S08AC: 8-bit Microcontroller Family web page: Overview, Documentation, Software & Tools, Orderable parts:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=S08AC
As you can see in the Buy / Parametric bar from the page linked above, there is a great variety of devices with the QFP 64 package, for example the MC9S08AC60MFUE or with the QFP 80 package as the MC9S08AC96CLKE that could match with your project.
Another option could be the S08QE family (1.8 to 3.6 supply voltage) that combines low-cost, low-power and high-performance.
S08QE: 8-bit Microcontroller Family web page: Overview, Documentation, Software & Tools, Orderable parts:

You can find the QFP 64 package as the MC9S08QE64CLH or QFP 80 as the MC9S08QE128CLK.
If you would like to work with just one MCU, I suggest you to look at the KINETIS MCUs .
Kinetis 32-bit Microcontroller (MCUs) based on ARM® Cortex®-M Cores:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/homepage.jsp?code=KINETIS
As example, the K10_100 MCU is QFP 144 package.
Hope this information will be useful for you.
Have a great day,
David Diaz.
