Why doesn't Freescale support the MPC55XX microprocessors with USBTap?  It would really be nice to debug without a thirdparty debugger.  Will CW eventually support debugging the MPC55XX with USBTap?

P&E Microsystems supports a USB TAP-style probe, which--if my read of the CodeWarrior for MPC55xx web page is right--should interface with the CodeWarrior debugger. I do not have that type of board so I can not go any further on checking how well or seamlessly the CW debugger interacts with it.

Thanks for your reply!  I am using the Freescale MPC55xx version 2.2, build 71004.  When I hit the debug button in Codewarrior it automatically starts the P&E debugger software ICDPPCNEXUS debugger.  If the option of debugging in CW is available, I would much rather use it.  I have the  Cyclone Max and USB Multilink from P&E.  I also have the USB Tap from freescale.  I also have a license for CW Pro.  If I could use any of these from within CW, that would be very convienant.

Do you know of any instructions or procedures that would enable CW to debug with any of the hardware mentioned above, without the P&E application?
