Hi, have seen problems on VISTA with this error message but I'm on XPSP2

Trying to install CWHCS12X_v4.7.exe gives the following message when progress bar reaches the end:

"Error 1722. There is aproblem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setupdid not finish as expected"

Anyone come across this?

I found the problem!! :smileyhappy:

P&E micro (and other codewarrior versions) install windrvr6.sys.  If this driver is loaded already, the installer fails when executing wdreg_gui.exe -inf "C:\Program Files\Freescale\CodeWarrior for HCS12 V4.7\Drivers\windrvr6.inf" install

SOLUTION:

Uninstall the windrvr6 driver and remove files so that the installer can re-install them

It may also have been possible to disable the P&E micro feature in a custom install??

I'm up and running now anyway! :smileyhappy:

Are you running the 64-bit version of XP? If so, you may want to look at this thread. Although it's about Vista, the trouble is the same in that it was the 64-bit version that was causing problems for the CodeWarrior installer. That solution might apply here.
