Hi

I have two computers: one installed CodeWarrior 6.0 Special version and another installed CodeWarrior 6.2 Evaluation version. I can conneect DEMO9S08QG8 BDM board with the computer installed special version, but can't connect the same BDM board with the computer installed Evaluation version. For the latter connection, I get the error message is "Can't communication with the target processor! Please check your connections between the cable and the target and make sure the target has power" but I use the exact same board, cable and project, and PEMICRO connection manager also detects my target CPU is HCS08 Processor. I do recycle the HCS08's power as the note suggested, but the error is same for next connection.

Is there difference on the connection between CodeWarrior 6.0 Special version and 6.2 Evaluation version?

Thanks

OK, when you plug the board into the with the CW 6.2 installation, do you get the USB "ding-dong" recognition tone? Do both the green and the yellow LEDs adjacent to the USB port on the board light up? If not, you have a driver problem. Try installing the latest USB drivers available from PE Micro's website (www.pemicro.com). What Windows OS are you running on the affected system?

Hi Tom

Thank you for your info. When the BDM was connected to the computer with CW6.2, the communication looks fine (both the green and the yellow LEDs light up), and the PEMICRO Connection Manager detected my target CPU is HCS08, but it also detected the "MCP reset line: high", and this causes the problem.

If you got the CodeWarrior tools along with that device, there should be a Quick Start Guide on the software CD that should explain how to connect your PC to the board, and start a debugger session with the board.
