thanks in advance for your thoughts 

 

11.0592 for the uarts or the specified multiple oe 2mhz  for the usb which would take me to 12mhz...

so then my question is what xtal ( crystal ) do i use.... 11.0592  or 12mhz...

i have a problem that im going to use the usb port for boot loading and gtghe uarts for rs232 comms

Hello,

 

My understanding is that, for USB operation, a bus clock of 24 MHz is required, generated using PEE mode.  You do not mention the SCI baud rate that you require, but it should be possible to generate a range of standard baud rates with this high bus frequency.  For example, a baud divisor of 13 would generate 115,200 bit per second, and a baud rate divisor of 78 would generate 19,200 bit per second.
