Hi,

We are using imxrt 1064evk board.

Now we are designing our new custom hardware same evk board 16bit sdram used.

Recently we got know imxrt1064 only support 8bit sdram interface.

If we connect 16 bit sdram mcu converts 16 bit to 8 bit and do the operation.

     Above statement is true ?

This case can we use 8bit sdram to save the pins ?

If we connect 8bit or 16 bit sdram both are performance wise same ?

Thanks & Regards,

      Vasu

Hello,

The MCU will not "16bit sdram to imxrt1064 internally convert to 8bit does the operation" unless you configure PS bit =0b IN register SDRAMCR0.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

RT1064 can support 8/16bit SDRAM. You will find the information as reference manual.

And the RT1064 EVK also connect 16 SDRAM.

Hope it help you. Have a nice day.

Hi fangfang

       Thank you for your reply.

I have already checked reference manual and evk schematic here mentioned imxrt1064 supports 16bit sdram.

But recently we got to know if we connect 16bit sdram to imxrt1064 internally convert to 8bit does the operation.

This news we got from our distributor they telling 16 (or) 8 bit sdram internal operation and performance wise same so better you can use 8bit sdram like that information we got.

Please conform above statement true or not ?

We planing to use sdram as a main ram.

Thanks & Regards,

      Vasu
