Hi All,
Our customer asking if a T1042 is supporting high resolution timer in Linux.
He wants to set it to 1000 Hz.
I didn't found any information regarding this issue.
I can configure option " CONFIG_HIGH_RES_TIMERS" in kernel, but according to help text:
" This option enables high resolution timer support. If your hardware is not capable then this option only increases the size of the kernel image."
Someone can help with this issue?
Thanks in advace
Please configure
HZ_1000=y
CONFIG_HIGH_RES_TIMERS=y
Good day,
Thanks for the answer.
But I would like to know if there is a HW support?
To configure two fields in .config it's cool, but according to the comment, there must to be a HW support.
So my question is still remained: "Does T1042 has HW support in high resolution timer?"
Regards
"CONFIG_HIGH_RES_TIMERS=y" was enabled for for PowerPC RT kernels in SDK release.
You may go ahead and try the config option.
Good day,
Is there any news regarding my question?
Regards
Hey,
As I mentioned before, my task was to ensure our customer, that T1042 is supporting high resolution timer in Linux.
I don't need to compile nothing for now.
I just need to find some kind of official documentation, in which there would be clearly explained that issue.
The modification and compilation of kernel are future task.
Meanwhile we are in "go / no go" situation.
Can you point me or provide the information I'm looking for?
I tried to look for that info, but without success so far.
Regards
