ADC conversion clock cycles

Hi,

I got a small doubt. In LPC1768/69 ADC is SAR type. for a 12 bit resolution, it should take 12 cycles for complete conversion. But in user manual mentioned that,

A non-burst mode conversion requires
65 clocks and a burst mode conversion requires 64 clocks.

Can you explain this?

Regards,

Muralidhar.

Hi, Avinash,

Regarding your question that the ADC conversion time of LPC17xx requires 64 clock cycles based on SAR mechanism, it is said that the ADC converter of LPC17xx is initial version, for the later ADC converter for example the ADC of LPC54xxx, the ADC is optimized, the ADC clock frequency becomes higher, the conversion time becomes shorter.
