IMX6 GPIO current sinking capability

Hello, I am designing a board which uses the IMX6ULL. I have a GPIO pin from the IMX6ULL controlling the reset pin for a module SOC on my board. The reset pin is active high. I would like to be able to manually put the module into reset during development. If the GPIO from the IMX6 (say GPIO_IO5) is driving the module reset pin low, and I force the reset high (like shorting a test point on reset to VCC_3V3) would this cause any issues with the GPIO?

Hi Amy,

No, it wouldn't.

Generally speaking, the limitation of PIN's sink current should be less than 17.8mA.

So you should pay attention to controlling sink current.

If the sink current is too large, it is easy to cause internal circuit leakage.

Have a nice day!
