I'm not able load PCP file.

As per pe micro forum (Link: http://www.pemicro.com/forums/forum.cfm?forum_topic_id=3630&forum_id=9#c21540)

To check basic debug functionality, you can try the following:

1) Connect with ICDPPCNEXUS
2) In the menu bar, go to "Configuration -> Automated Script Options"
3) Check the box that reads "Run Script File after the Debugger RESETS the MCU:" and specify the "mpc5500_any_init.mac" file
4) Click OK and type "reset" into the Status window
5) Try looking at RAM (address 0x4000_0000) and modify the contents.

please see result in attached file.

What is the issue why i'm not able to load PCP file?

Hi,

did it work before that? Is that your own board? I'm attaching pcp file and reset script file which I used for my test - it works on my side. I guess there will be no difference but it's something to start, at least.

Lukas

Please see the result.. getting same error.

Also i have attached waveform of TDI and TDO. CH-1 is TDO and CH2 is TDI. Can't see TCK signal, if i connect probe to TCK connection constantly drops.

Please see connection with PEMicro.

Hi,

"Can't see TCK signal, if i connect probe to TCK connection constantly drops."

- this sounds like the key point. Please make sure the hardware connection is correct and that all signals are visible.

Later, I have monitor all signals TCK, TMS, TDI, TDO and RESET on oscilloscope. signals are pretty steady no issue.

I have monitor RESET signal and it is not toggling so there is no chance of connection loss.

Any other way to check?

Any pin required to pull high or low for deugging?

Hi,

there are RSTCFG, BOOTCFG and PLLCFG pins which need to be configured appropriately.

Please check the reference manual and this application note (section 2 Reset Configuration) for more details:

RSTCFG is set to high (Default (internal) boot mode selected with a crystal oscillator reference. This provides the same configuration as setting BOOTCFG[0:1]=0b00 and PLLCFG[0:1]=0b01).

As per user manual everything seems to be ok. I don't understand why i can't load ppc file?

Earlier I thought chip is censored but I check with ICDPPCNEXUS it connecting successfully with only issue of getting XX in RAM Memory so i think there should not be censorship issue.. not sure as I'm new to this chip.

ICDPPCNEXUS screenshot you can see in first post.

I hope someone help to solve my problem.

Hi,

can't really say as there may be something damaged on the board. Do you have more boards? Can you see the same problem on another board?

Lukas

Right now only 1 board I have with me.

I don't think board is damaged because JTAG is detect ID and also default application is running on it.

I have verified by CAN bus, I have read message of running application.

Last thing which comes into my mind - have you tried to configure lower 'BDM Communication Speed' in PEMICRO Connection Manager?
