When use two S32K118EVB boards to run the LIN master and slave examples, there is no signal on LIN bus.

Work environment:  two S32K118EVB boards, one run the lin_master_s32k118 example, another run the lin_slave_s32k118 example, the LIN examples are from S32SDK_S32K1xx_BETA_2.9.0.  The J11-1 is connected with one duport female cable between two boards, then no signal.

According to the document S32SDK_S32K118_UserManual.pdf,  lin master and slave examples show 5 dupont female cables are needed, so whether the connection is wrong? if wrong, how to use 5 female cables to connect the two boards?

Hi,

external power supply (12V) must be connected to J16, so board's LIN transceiver is powered. Master node must have jumper J108 placed. Then boards are connected with LIN (J11.1) and GND (J11.4) wires.

Hi Petr,

Thanks very much for your reply. Now I understand the LIN transceiver can not be powered by USB port. Can you tell me the current value for external power supply(12V) ?

Best Regards

Hi,

I think you should have at least 500mA power supply.
