LPC54618 External clock input

Hello,

I want to drive the LPC54618 XTALIN input with a logic signal (3v3, 10 MHz) coming from a distributed clock signal. Is this possible and what hardware considerations should I take into account to make this possible?

Thanks for your reply.

Regards,

Tijmen van Eijk

Hi Tijmen van Eijk,

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products and
for the opportunity to serve you.
For the LPC546xx series, the oscillator input pin (XTALIN) cannot be driven by an external clock. Must connect a crystal between XTALIN and XTALOUT. In another word, it's unavailable to drive the LPC54618 via extern oscillator connect the XTALIN input pin.

Have a great day,
TIC
