Hi,
I was running fine with the codewarrior debugger(CWHC12XV4.5) on my target board having MC9S12dp256b part till today.
But suddenly, today, on the same working board, when I try to load the debugger, it gives me "Failed to find communication speed" error. Also we couldnt see USB port option  on the list of choices.
So, any ideas whether my chip has gone bad or is there anything else I can still try out.

Most likely:
- Accidently secured processor. Try unsecuring it through the debugger option or run a separate unsecure program (available for free from PE micro if you are using their pod).

Likely:
- The BDM connector or cable is malfunctioning or turned upside down.
- Some jumper settings are messed up on the board.

Unlikely:
- The BDM pod is broken.
- The oscillator or the supply voltage circuitry is broken.

Very unlikely:
- The CPU is broken.
