Dear NXP engineer.

I'm looking for a device that senses the folded angle of the truck's seat back.

NXP has products from 2/3-axis sensor and angle sensor and wants to know which one is advantageous to use.

Can you briefly explain the typical device and why?

Thank you.

Hello HY,

Thanks for your inquriy, this is Wenting from product line magnetic sensor marketing.

For the seat angle measurement application, it is imporant that you know it is a 2D measurement or 3D measurement that you are looking for.

2/3 axis sensor is based on MEMS technology and find application mostly in consumer or industry.

The 2D measurement magnetic sensor KMA family (KMA310, KMA321 or KMZ80) are sensors with different package most widely used in the Automotive industry. The sensor is doing nothing else than measuring a rotating magnetic field and convert the angle value to electrical signal, here our unique selling point is the accuracy and stability over life time, MR based technology is  in genenral more accurate against Hall based angle sensor. In case you are from South Korea, you might get in contact with Ms Sio Park for further support, she is our regional FAE in South Korea, Her contact  Sio.Park@nxp.com.

Wenting
