Hello all,

I have an IMX6ULL board with 16 GB eMMC.

The devices initializes successfully. Read and write for small size of files also works successfully.

However, when larger files are read or written, (excess of 1GB) the kernel crashes with the following error.

2019-07-22T07:53:00.695376+00:00 kernel: mmcblk1: error -110 sending status command, retrying
2019-07-22T07:53:00.825359+00:00 kernel: mmcblk1: error -110 sending status command, retrying
2019-07-22T07:53:00.825429+00:00 kernel: mmcblk1: error -110 sending status command, aborting‍‍‍‍‍‍

Can anybody shed light on why this issue occurs ?

The Linux kernel version is 4.1.15.

Thank you for your time.

Thanks and regards,
Nishad

Hi Nishad

usually kernel crashing occurs due to memory or power supply problems, so

one can try to run memory test i.MX6/7 DDR Stress Test Tool V3.00

Check power supplies using Hardware Development Guide for the i.MX 6ULL Applications Processor

Best regards
igor
