How to compile the yocto rootfs after modifiying a qt app

I am using an imx6slev board and my qt version is qt 5.9 and trying to implement screen rotation for qt apps.

I read in a qt forum that qt5 doesn't support rotation and hence I had to modify the already existing qt app

(QT5 LinuxFB rotation for LCDs patch · borkedLabs )

I compiled the entire rootfs using

   bitbake fsl-image-qt5-validation-imx

but no change appears in rootfs

NOTE: Tasks Summary: Attempted 5751 tasks of which 5751 didn't need to be rerun and all succeeded.

as seen in above log rootfs was not modified

Should I change the .bb file for compiling qt base?

I have attached the .cpp and .h file and the .bb file used.

Path where I added the files:

~/yocto_4_9_88_qt/imx-yocto-bsp/build-fb/tmp/work/cortexa9hf-neon-poky-linux-gnueabi/qtbase/5.9.4+gitAUTOINC+0d9208cecb-r0/git/src/plugins/platforms/linuxfb/

Path to my .bb file

~/yocto_4_9_88_qt/imx-yocto-bsp/sources/meta-fsl-bsp-release/imx/meta-sdk/recipes-fsl/images
