Hi Vivek,

This version is too old, I can't find it. Please use v2.2 or above. The SDK is backward compatible. It can support old version project.

Jing

Hi Jing,

I am able to download MCUXpresso IDE and able to compile "Hello_World" demo application.

I followed "Getting Started with MCUXpresso SDK, Rev. 10, 06/2019", download from same link:

https://mcuxpresso.nxp.com/en/dashboard?uvid=196373&to_vault=true

As mentioned on Page 13, when I press "Resume" button, I can see "hello world." printed on MCUXpresso IDE Console, but I am not able to see same on serial port, in my case it is COM15 and shows as: "mbed Serial Port (COM15)"  in windows "Device Manager".

Can you point what could be the issue?

Kind Regards

Vivek

Hi Vivek,

From version 2.4, SDK doesn't support KDS anymore. If you want to use KDS, you should download 2.3 or 2.2. NXP hope customers use MCUXpresso. KDS is fade out.

MCUXpresso default use semihost to print debug information.  This is support by ARM debug component inside ARM core. If you want to print through UART, you can set it by right click Quickstart Panel-> Quick setting->...

Hi Jing,

Thanks for the inputs.

With migrating to MCUXpresso IDE and SDK 2.6.0, I am able to write, compile and execute application.

Also with changing SDK debug console to UART as above, I am able to see logs on COM port as well.

Kind Regards

Vivek

Hi Jing,

Thanks for reply.

I have downloaded SDK 2.6.0 from below link:

https://mcuxpresso.nxp.com/en/dashboard?uvid=196373&to_vault=true

1. Is this the right link?

2. Is this SDK based on mBed? if not where can I find mBed SDK for FRDM-K82F?

Kind Regards,

Vivek

Hi,

Yes, this link is correct. But this SDK is not based on mbed. There isn't mbed SDK for FRDM-K82F.

Hi Jing,

Thanks for clarification, I have started using this, I have "Kinetics Design Studio 3.2.0", when i am going through the KSDK_2.6.0 user guide, it explains to use MCUXpresso IDE, which is not same as  "Kinetics Design Studio 3.2.0", I trying to import "Hello_World" project, but could not do it in "Kinetics Design Studio 3.2.0".

Are "KSDK 2.6.0" and "Kinetics Design Studio 3.2.0" compatible to each other? or do I need to use MCUXpresso IDE itself?

Kind Regards

Vivek

Hi Jing,

Additionally I am following below link to build and Run application:

Get Started with the FRDM-K82F | NXP

Which also explains about using "Kinetics Design Studio 3.2.0". Can you provide inputs.

Kind Regards

Vivek
