Hello,

Where can I find a correct BSDL file for LPC4074FBD80_551 LQFP80?

I had found the file BSDL_LPC407x_8x-LQFP80_LQFP100.zip on the official website, but it doesnt work.

I read an incorrect ID-Code and any pin operations (set, read) will not work correct.

The BSDL file names the type LPC418x.

What can I do? Is there an other file available?

Hello Mr. Jun Zhang,

see attached the screenshot of the wrong ID-Code.

We read the Code 10010001011101110100000000101011.

The manufacturer code is ok, but the device id is wrong.

We are checking this issue with doc team.

May I understand, on your side both version number( yours is 1001) and part number ( yours is 0001011101110100) are not match. Correct?

Could you please hep to confirm the problem is in some chip or all chips?

Best Regards

Hello,

this is correct. We read the correct manufacturer id 00000010101, but the part number is incorrect. The version number in the bsdl file is 0xxx, we read 1001.

We read the wrong codes from several chips.

Hi Jan

So this issue is on some chips but not all chips.

in the BSDL file, the part no. is LPC418x, obviously it not right, I'll inform doc team for this. But it's not important content for BSDL file, it's just like a label, actually, customer can easy replace all LPC418x to any he wanted part No.

So the customer can use this file with replacing the label to LPC4074.

Please let me know if this is workable for you. Once I get feedback from doc team with the fix. I will let you know.

Have a nice day,

Jun Zhang

Hi Jun,

we misunderstood each other. We read the wrong code from all chips which we have.

Patching the BSDL-File is no problem, but the main problem is reading and writing the pins.

Writing a pin will have no effect to the output (we don's see the result of the writing on the pcb).

Also write and read back a pin doesn't work. We write a 1 and read a 0 from the same pin (only internal function of the chip). We suspect that the internal BSD chain definition is incorrect (length or order of pins).

HI Jan Ziehnert

Our SE team requests more information from you. If you have, please let me know:

1. Have you used other BSDL file to get right result?  This can exclude the problem from customer's software.

2. If your software improved good, Could you provide which pin you found having problem.

We can provide this information to BL to double check the BSDL file. Thanks.

Hallo Jun,

we only have used the official file BSDL_LPC407x_8x-LQFP80_LQFP100.zip from the official website.

No pin worked as expected.

Since setting and reading the pins does not work, unfortunately, I can not provide any further information about the error limitation.

Hi Jan

Sorry, the last question for you.

As we need verify if your testing environment is correct. Did you ever user your testing environment for other bsdl file and chip. they are work well?

We will collect all this information and send to design team. Thanks!

Hi Jun,

The test environment has been used for several years for a variety of chips and BSDL files without problems.

Among other things, we have already tested NXP chips (eg LPC4078).

The LPC4078 was tested without problems with the same BSDL file that is now causing problems.

So, you use LQFP80.bsdl in BSDL_LPC407x_8x-LQFP80_LQFP100.zip testing LPC4078 without issue, but with the same file, system produce error for LPC4074FBD80_551 LQFP80.  Correct?

Yes, this is correct. The test of the 4078 is a year ago and worked without problems.

Hi Jan

Are you sure you use the same LQFP80.bsdl  for LPC4078 80pin chip, you can capture the correct data?

Because if open LQFP80.bsdl, the part no. is LPC418x

Hi Jun,

yes, we use this file for LPC4078 and it works.

But not on the LPC4074.

I can not found a other file for the LPC4074 (please refer to my first post).

I know that the part no in the file is LPC418x, but on LPC4074FBD80|Arm Cortex-M4|32-bit MCU | NXP i don't found an other official file.

Can you provide me with a BSDL file for the LPC4074?

Hi Jan,

Just got feedback. LQFP80.bsdl  works for both LPC4074 and LPC4078 80pin package.

If the same LQFP80.bsdl can support  LPC4078 well, it should also works for 4074.

Thus we wonder the problem is on your SW side.

or, send me the LQFP80.bsdl  file you used with LPC4074 one year ago. we can help to compare.

Thanks.
