I have the OM5578 demo board for the PN7150 NFC SBC.
I have reviewed the schematics for the shield and for the PN7150 and I cannot see any pull-up resistors attached to the I2C SDA and SCL lines.
So, are these required as it is not explicitly explained in the documentation and I usually assume that an R3 compatible interface board (or shield) would have standardised and included them on the shield if they were required?
So I'm a bit confused and seeking advice.
Thanks.
Hello Colin,
I2C interface on PN7150 meets standard I2C protocol, So these 2 pins on PN7150 is Open Drain. But On OM5578 board, the 2 pins are not pulled up to HIGH via 10K/4.7k resistor. If you want to use I2C to communicate with MCU or Processor, Please pull these 2 pins up to HIGH on MCU side!
Have a nice day!
