HDMI Tx without DCSS in IMX8MQ

We are going to make product based on IMX8MQ (MIMX8MQ6DVAJZAA) processor.  Currently we are doing POC on IMX8MQ processor EVK.

  • Based Technical Reference manual and sample device tree files what I see that we are always using DCSS controller to drive output on HDMI screen. Is there any way we can use HDMI TX directly without using DCSS controller?
  • Basically we want to use MIPI DSI interface for DSI panel and use DCSS controller for different features (scaling, rotation, overlay etc).
  • And use HDMI display as it is.

Is what I describe here is possible in IMX8MQ?

Thanks,

Jemish

Hello,

Unfortunately, the DCSS is crucial for the HDMI output on the i.MX8MQ. You cannot have the HDMI output without the use of the DCSS. I apologize for the inconveniences this could give you.

Best regards,

Diego.
