We are using the A core for main application running on Android. On the M4 Core we would like to put FreeRTOS but I don't find the ported version and any guide. Anybody that can explain me if it exists or not or how to adapt FreeRTOS for this core? I am new in RTOS.

Hi Luca,
The FreeRTOS release for M4 core of i.MX8 is part of the MCUXpresso SDK, which could be build and downloaded (including its related documentation) from the following site:

https://mcuxpresso.nxp.com/en/select

In case of having doubts regarding how to generate your SDK package, you could refer to the following Community document:
Generating a downloadable MCUXpresso SDK v.2 package

Hope this will be useful for you.
Best regards!

Hallo,

I saw that MCUxpresso SDK is not available for my processor. How can I use

the GCC SDK for another IDE (or for MCUxpresso)?

Hi Luca,

I’m afraid that there are no plans to include MCUXpresso IDE as part of the supported IDEs for the MCUXpresso SDK. Just IAR and GCC are supported, as listed on the Release Notes.

Hope this will be useful for you.
Best regards!
