I am working with the FRDM-KW41Z board. I was wondering variable is being called in order to send and receive data when it is used as an end-device?

Example: If I attach a thermocouple to the board, it will send me a number representing a temperature. I need to know what variable is being used to retrieve that number in order to send it over zigbee then ultimately to the coordinator device.

Hi Erik Majeski,

It looks like you attached the source code for the 802.15.4 end device example from the SDK, in this example the messages are received in:

    void *pMsgIn = NULL;

The incoming messages are managed in the AppThread() function, depend of the event trigger for the different peripherals or messages from the coordinator some APIs are called to handle the event. But I found strange you want to use 802.15.4 if you want to send it over zigbee, why you not use the Zigbee example instead?

This example is also found in the SDK:

 ../SDK_2.2.0_FRDM-KW41Z.zip\boards\frdmkw41z\wireless_examples\zigbee_3_0

I hope this helps you.

Best Regards,

Alexis Andalon
