Hi, we are using i.MX 6d processor with two DDR3 chips to make a 32bit RAM access.

Now we want to save the cost of our BOM, so we tried to using single chip of DDR3 chip, that is 16bit RAM access.

We removed one DDR3 chip from our board, used I.MX6DQSDL DDR3 Script Aid to generate script for ddr stress tester.

But this does not work at all, We got error "DCD addr is out of valid range" if we check the "Verify DCD Address" box option in the DDR Test Tool. If it is not checked we got a "Write dcd failed" error.

So, we want to ask if anyone knows does i.MX 6d support 16bit single DDR3 chip to work with? Thanks a lot!

Hi Ran

error "DCD addr is out of valid range." is described in faq section on:

i.MX6/7 DDR Stress Test Tool V2.92

16 bit configuration is supported according to sect.44.12.1 MMDC Core Control

Register (MMDCx_MDCTL) i.MX6DQ Reference Manual

http://www.nxp.com/docs/en/reference-manual/IMX6DQRM.pdf

Best regards
