There are 32 characters (alpha and numeric) of serial number available to read from the processor. Can any of these characters be ignored? i.e. are some of the characters related to the processor model rather than serial number? We'd like to track devices with less than 32 character numbers if possible, but of course we want to avoid duplicates.

Hi,

The Unique Serial Number or UID is a 128-bit value that is unique across parts/families of LPC Microcontrollers, and no two devices/parts will have all the 128 bits same.

Unfortunately, we do not disclose any information regarding the structure of UID and unique/significant bits. If you require less unique bits (e.g. 8, 16, 32 or 64), whatever method you use collisions will be unavoidable.

Have a great day,

Sol
