Is the Exposed Die Attach Pad on the MK02FN128VFM10 a ground pin?

Hello,

I don't see it called out in the datasheet whether the Exposed Die Attach Pad on the MK02FN128VFM10  (32-pin QFN package) is actually a ground.

Please confirm it's a ground and should be tied into a ground plane.

If it's not a ground, is it OK to tie it to ground?

If it's not OK to tie it to ground, then what is the recommendation on dealing with it on the PCB board?

Thank you,

Bob

Hi Robert Cochran

Yes, in kinetis devices it is connected to ground. I recommend you checking the AN1902:

https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN1902.pdf

In "4.2.2 Guideline for exposed pad land patterns" you can find a more specific explanation.

Have a great day,
Jorge Alcala
