I have software which has been flashed and tested to be working on MPC5748G Devkit which contains 176 Pin package. Now i just want to know if i can just flash this software on MPC5748G 256 pin Package ? I just verified that the JTAG Pins remain the same from 176 Package to 256 Package . I dont care if the software doesnt work in the 256 Pin package , just want to know what else should be care about while migrating from 176 Pin to 256 Pin package for the JTAG Flashing to work ?

Hello,

yes, you can definitely change the package. Software will work too, because there are no internal changes between these packages.

In general, I would be checking that the new package is the same derivative and has the same flash and RAM layout. So long as they are the same sizes i.e. just more pins, then you should be good to go.
