When I add extra load from DC load “Chroma 63640-80-80

Output voltage of GEN_3V3 start drop when load over 1.5A

Spec mention Isw2 support 2A , could you double check what reason voltage drop

Vin of GEN_3V3 is 3.4V , it is too close output voltage 3.3V

Vout will drop due to internal Rdson and Inductor Rdson

voltage drop in the conduction path as given by the following equation: (VINSW2 - VSW2) = ISW2* (DCR of Inductor +RONSW2P + PCB trace resistance).

am I right?

Thanks!

Vin “SYS_VIN” = 3.4V

Hi,

You are correct, the reason of the dropout you are seen is caused because the input voltage value of the GEN_3V3 regulator is too close to output voltage value. Vout will drop due to internal Rdson and Inductor Rdson.

As stated in note 51 of the datasheet: “The higher output voltages available depend on the voltage drop in the conduction path as given by the following equation: (VINSW2 - VSW2) = ISW2 * (DCR of Inductor +RONSW2P + PCB trace resistance).”

Regards,

Jose
