Hello community,
I have 2 questions about License file of AAC Codec like a fsl_aacp_dec_O8.1.0-8MQ_GA.tar.gz
It have two license file, EULA.txt and SCR-fsl_aacp_dec.txt
In SCR-fsl_aacp_dec.txt, it can show a following,
NXP Software Content Register
Package: fsl_aacp_dec.tar.gz
Outgoing License: LA_OPT_BASE_LICENSE
License Files: EULA.txt: LA_OPT_BASE_LICENSE
Package Category: Multimedia
Type of content: Binaries
Description and comments: Dolby/Coding Technologies AACP codec
Release Location: Moderated download
Origin: NXP (proprietary)
Freescale Semiconductor, Inc (Proprietary)
Dolby Laboratories/Coding Technologies (proprietary)
ARM Limited (proprietary)
I think that package "fsl_aacp_dec.tar.gz" is a based on the 4 type license in Origin.
Origin: NXP (proprietary)
Freescale Semiconductor, Inc (Proprietary)
Dolby Laboratories/Coding Technologies (proprietary)
ARM Limited (proprietary)
And detail of each license can show in "EULA.txt" LA_OPT_BASE_LICENSE.
Is my understanding correct?
If so, no information about "ARM Limited (proprietary)" in EULA.txt.
How can I check this license?
Best regards,
Ishii.
Hello community,
Could you tell me about this question?
Best regards,
Ishii.
EULA means End User License Agreement, every package includes this, I'm not sure if "EULA.txt" should include all detailed license information, for special package license, you need to contact the local reprentative who offer you these packages, this is technical support, for law question, I'm afraid I couldn't give personal interpretation.
Dear joanxie,
Thank you for your support.
Our customer hope to know that AACPlus library is based on the open source software or not
to conform OSS license like a GPL.
In "origin" section of SCR-fsl_aacp_dec.txt, it suggest only "proprietary".
My understanding is this library is not include open source software.
Is it correct?
Best regards,
Ishii
